One of the most beautiful (inside and out) young women I know was Confirmed yesterday! Congratulations Kenzie I love you so much and am so proud of you!
This is Kenzie. She might hate me for this picture but I will always remember baking monster cookies this past summer with her.
I wrote Kenzie a super long letter, and by super long I mean 8 typed pages long, for her to read while she stayed up all night contemplating taking her adult steps to walk with Jesus the next morning. She was given a bunch of letter from family and friends and they were all a surprise her mom had gotten together for her! I’m sure she opened my letter and was like “Geez Katherine!” But hey I had a lot to say and I wanted her to know the truth about my walk with Jesus.
Then just because I really wanted her to WALK with Jesus I centered my gift around that thought so I got her the one gift that could give the gift of ‘walking’ not only to Kenzie but to another as well….
TOMS! Brilliant I know!
And then I put my own spin them…
One shoe has 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 and the instep says “the greatest of these is Love” :
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
the other shoe has some of the lyrics from the song I Can Only Imagine and the instep says I can only imagine:
“I can only imagine what it will be like, when I walk by Your side…
I can only imagine, what my eyes will see, when Your Face is before me!
I can only imagine. I can only imagine.
Surrounded by Your Glory, what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you, Jesus? Or in awe of You, be still?
Will I stand in Your presence, or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing ‘Hallelujah!’? Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine! I can only imagine!
Congrats Kenzie! I am so proud of you! I hope you love your gift!
