Chi-town wedding

Tom and I traveled to Chicago this past weekend for a wedding! What a beautiful wedding it was! The ceremony was at the Chicago Temple, the oldest church in Chicago, the inside was stunning! Tom and I cut it a little short since we decided to walk from our hotel instead of hail a cab… bad choice. The “walk” ended up with me kicking my heels off and running to the church so as to not miss the ceremony. Running while dressed up is not my cup of tea, add barefoot in downtown Chicago and you have a recipe for hepatitis or something. Ugh. Let’s just say my feet got an extra good scrubbing. But we made it to the church just in the nick of time and got to watch a lovely service! Then the group was shuttled to the reception site… wait for it… the Chicago Public Library! be still my beating heart The entire event was centered around the theme of books: our tables were marked by books special to the couple, our menu was broken into parts of a novel, and the place cards were old school library catalog cards! Hanna and Doug looked so amazingly happy and I could not be more excited to see where they go in life!

Oh yeah, one more teeny weenie detail… Tom caught the garter…

Hmmmmm…
