Yakety Yak… Don’t Talk Back

Picture this… you’re sitting in a slammin restaurant in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere Minnesota that you didn’t even realize had awesome restaurants, you have half a year to complete your bucket list of which one requirement is that you try a new food, and on the menu under the specials of the day is YAK. Yeah. YAK. Crazy right? My mind immediately went to sherpas riding big shaggy animals. I only needed about 10 seconds to decide, so I ordered that thing.

And it was good. Damn good.

Then I had lemon drop martinis… which are also damn good.

Also fun fact my mother and father apparently went to this same restaurant when they went to prom in high school! Crazy!

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever eaten?

Alligator. They were serving it once when I was at Cabela’s (the outsider’s store), and I just couldn’t resist. It was delicious, too! Way better than chicken. 😉 http://www.iris-hanlin.com

It’s so sad to say that I have not tried anything crazy. I am just too picky. Well there was this stuff called Fat Back I had a long time ago. Don’t even ask me what it is. I have no idea. Gross!

So jealous that looks amazing! I was in Cincinnati OH after the Holidays and was wanting to go to the zoo’s light display. Unfortunately the cold temps and the snow prevented that! But looks like you had a fun time!

That does look amazing! And lemon drops used to be my drink du jour! (Well, not literally, but I they were my fave.).
I don’t think I have ever tried any really crazy food, but I’ve got to say I’m okay with that!
