14 Books to Read in 2014

1. Harry Potter 1-7 by J.K. Rowling
Because if you haven’t read all of them we can’t be friends. And in reality you probably wouldn’t understand half of my comments or have the respect of billions of people around the world. I’m not asking you to get a Harry Potter tattoo like mine but the least you could do is read the series of one of the greatest writers of our time. I mean come on they devote whole classes to these books in the Ivy Leagues!

2. The Thousand Dollar Tan Line by Rob Thomas
Veronica Mars is back! Read this so you can get back into the mind frame and be ready for the VM movie!

3. Lineage of Grace by Francine Rivers
A fantastic look at the five women God chose: Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary. It’s a wonderful look into faith.

4. Stay by Allie Larkin
After heartbreak Van buys a German Shepard puppy. This book was so witty and sweet it reminded me of Winston and I. Plus, it’s a sharp look at love.

5. Where’d you Go Bernadette? By Maria Semple
Not only is it a fun read but it also showcases a great Mother Daughter relationship.

6. Commencement by Courtney Sullivan
One of my bookclub’s book selections it is a fantastic look at friendship, first love, and also what it takes to be a young woman today.

7. How to Be a Woman by Caitlin Moran
I dare you to not be proud to be a woman after reading this book. Bring on the new you!

8. Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? By Mindy Kalig
For everyone who has ever asked themselves the title question. Read, laugh, and grow a healthy appreciation for yourself.

9. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
This book is for all those who were ever (or still currently) obsessed with Harry Potter or Twilight or any other fandom building series. I’m not ashamed to say I say a little of myself in the book.

10. Pushing 30 by Whitney Gaskell
Having a mid-life crisis? Grab this book, it’s a fun, fast read that will kick your mid-life crisis into the next century.

11. The Monuments Men by Robert M. Edsel
I admit it, I saw the movie already but the I think everyone would enjoy the book because the story is so poignant and it’s real! This really happened! It’s so incredible that some people devote their lives to preserving history and this book shows the lengths those heroic people will go to for history.

12. Girls in White Dress by Jennifer Close
Are you one of those twentysomethings that sees everyone around themselves getting married? Then pick this up and prepare to fall in love. If you’re not one of those women pick it up anyway because it’s a great look at life.

13. Wedding Night by Sophia Kinsella
This book made me literally LOL. Yes I actually laughed out loud. It’s a great read if you’re ever feeling down or contemplating getting married to someone you barely knew from your past. Either way grab this book and prepare to have a good time.

14. Divergent by Veronica Roth
I actually haven’t read this series yet but I figure I better read it before I see the movie coming out this year! I’ve heard good things so bring it on Roth!
