Chills and Thrills

Napa was ah-mazing! We biked on our winery tour the first day, yes you read that correctly biked before/during/after drinking wine. I’m not saying a member or two of our group fell off their bikes but I’m not denying that either…

I wanted to find a dress that I could bike in yet still was like ‘Oh hey let me walk through these vineyards and drink wine and not look like bum” Turns out they don’t have that section in stores… Then I found this dress and I was sold!

Anytime I spend any amount of time with my mom I know I better step up my outfit game. Even if it’s just laying on the couch, working a garage sale, or planting flowers in the backyard, I better look presentable. So this cool (literally and figuratively) top let’s me get away with jean shorts and still get at least a nod of approval from Jane. The printed headscarf and pink lipstick were just icing and the cherry on top.

Winston Approved

Warning: you might not be able to finish this post before you run off to the nearest Target to snag the cutest sweater you’ve ever seen …

I wore this outfit to the casual day of my work conference last week. It was a half day and it was freezing outside, plus I was feel a tad under the weather, so I thought let’s throw on my new bulldog sweater.
I found this sweater (in the men’s department) at Target while I was on my weekly perusal of Target, you do that right? It was a bulldog jackpot for me. I found this sweater and a bulldog cookie jar! I have been eyeing this one from Anthro but I can’t justify the price tag then I spotted this one at Target, and could easily handle that price tag, so I placed one safely in my cart. I can’t wait to find the perfect spot for it in my kitchen!

Green Plaid

Spending Christmas in Minnesota finally gave me my quota of cold days but apparently I brought the cold weather back with me… it’s freezing in Dallas this week and only going to get colder! Minnesota also gave me the chance to wear clothes that I could never wear in court! It was wonderful wearing warm comfy vests and my favorite hunter boots! Plus, it’s not every day that I can dress in my favorite color from head to toe!

Tomorrow is the last day of 2014 and I am so looking forward to 2015! To start the year off right I’m giving away free ad space to the first 10 people to enter promo code: 2015ishere The code works for Eleanor spots, click here to set up your ads!

Here’s another hot weather outfit to keep you cool in the late summer heat! I’m hanging on to summer… well it IS still in the 90s in Texas! I’ve just returned from Turkey and I’m in the process of getting settled back into Dallas but I thought I’d show you this before the deluge of Turkey photos starts!

I wore this to the Pine to Palm Golf Tournament in Detroit Lakes! My adorable tumbler is from a gift shop that’s only open in the summer called Vintage Point! You’ve got to have something cool to drink when you’re walking a golf course right?

While this was the day that my cousin Ben lost we still had a great day watching him!

I’m on my way home from a great weekend with my family in Minnesota (more on that tomorrow) and I wanted to share the outfit that kept me cool while watching my cousin play in the annual amateur golf tournament the town holds. This tourney isn’t some rinky dink thing, it’s pretty legit. My cousin is in high school golf and was beating some college ranked players! Good for you Ben!

Anyway, I knew that a day out walking around in the sun wasn’t going to be as cool (literally I mean) as spending the day in the lake but I was game. After all I’m used to Texas heat and this is just Minnesota heat… I’ve got it covered.

This hat is probably one of my best purchases this summer. I’ve had a panama hat for 3 years now. My first was one that I bought on vacation in a little store and it was authentic, I absolutely loved it and I wore that thing out in a year. Last summer when it came time to buy a new one, I didn’t want to pay exorbitant shipping fees for an authentic so I went the jcrew route. It worked just fine and was keeping up with my use until Winston decided it looked like a super fun thing to eat.

Earlier this summer I hadn’t found one yet and I didn’t want to buy jcrew again because they don’t have sizes and let’s face it, I’ve got a big head. Cue the chuckles and insults from my uncles. But seriously, my head is large and in charge. Then I’m walking past the men’s accessories section in target a few weeks ago (it’s right on the way to fitting rooms!) and boom there are target style panama hats IN SIZES. Bought immediately. This thing is great and after I take it off it doesn’t leave a mark on my head!

I love you target.

How was your weekend?

When it’s cold you need a hat and it’s just so much better when your hat matches your outfit! I love this Banana Republic blouse and how it’s modern yet classic with pops of color. Looks great with jeans and I can totally imagine rocking the courtroom in this blouse!

Got the chance to hang out with my lovely friend Rachel last week at this great coffee shop in Highland Park, The Drip. Oh dang that place was good! I’m one of those people who can’t have their coffee taste like coffee (weird I know, but that’s how I feel) and their pumpkin bread all year long; this place had both! On the plus side it also has turned a little colder in Dallas, as in the needle hasn’t gone north of 72, and I got to pull out my boots! Oh and a scarf!

Over the Edge

Last weekend I got to hang out with my brother and sister who are a freshman and 8th grader respectively. I knew we were going to be talking about school drama, homecoming date drama, and then going to dinner, and relaxing on the couch watching the Aggies (thankfully) pull out a win! (Did anyone else break out in a sweat while watching that game…) I wanted to still look cute since my little sister always looks so trendy so I chose to dress up jeans and a button down.
